My Approach
I want to hear what you are dealing with regarding your pain, limitations with movement, and/or your goals for your body. I want to assess how you breathe because the average person takes 20,000 breathes per day and I find that the majority of people are using their neck to lead breathing instead of their thoracic and pelvic diaphragms. I want to assess how you walk because not only is that the movement that just about all of us do the most everyday, but also because walking is breathing. From my assessment we can identify what patterns your brain may be holding your body in. From there we will create a plan of care for you to work toward connecting your brain and body to best reach your goals.

About me
My name is Brandon Le Burkien and I am both a movement rehabilitation and performance specialist. While using movement as medicine, I teach people how to work toward effortless movement. My experience comes from practicing as: Doctor of Physical Therapy in orthopedics and neurology for the past five years with a specialty in spinal rehabilitation; Postdoctoral certification from the Postural Restoration Institute® with a focus on teaching people how to reposition their spine so the nervous system allows the spine to properly rotate with movement; Personal training for twenty-two years in everything from sports performance, boxing and body building to yoga, weight loss, and designing cardiovascular endurance programs; Coached and competed in the sport of weightlifting for ten years with a focus in strength and reflex development. From these practices I have earned the bulk of my expertise in teaching human movement while I continue to learn how to help people with complex signs and symptoms that limit them from participating in multiple aspects of their daily life.
Getting Help
Sometimes our bodies do not cooperate with our minds. The School of Movement has taken the sciences of human movement, the literature on rehabilitation and performance, and both the clinical practice of pain management and strength and conditioning, and synthesized the material into a program that teaches you how to use your body so that it follows your mind.

The School of Movement offers multiple programs written by a Doctor of Physical Therapy that is also a strength and conditioning coach. Programs range from repositioning your body to working one on one with a Physical Therapist who specializes in spinal rehabilitation. For those seeking performance enhancement, personal training and exercise programming will carry over the repositioning strategies to ensure proper body mechanics and injury prevention.
